Although Jump City isn't the same booming economic power house as Gotham or Metropolis, its location on the coast ensures that it receives a steady stream of shipped goods, which are often then transported to the surrounding states. The further one gets to the poorer district, the less populated the docks and warehouses become, but the solid police force ensures that even the relatively abandoned regions aren't too dangerous.
